You can learn how to ski easily. You don't even need to know the first thing about skiing. You can literally do skiing after an hour of instructions.

Most resorts provide ski school on the premises, and lessons are reasonably priced. If you have the appointment before you arrive at the resort, you can start learning to ski the very first hour of your vacation.

Ski instructors may start by showing you how to manoeuvre around with your equipment. 

The first manoeuvre you may learn is plow, or snow plow. This is a technique in which you use your skis as a snow plough. These techniques are easy and all of these techniques can be learned in one hour.

Now when you are ready to do ski, you should control your speed by snow ploughing - go slow at first. 

As a beginner, you should stick to the trails for the beginners. At most resorts, these trails are marked as green emblem. Blue trails are for intermediate skiers. The black trails are for expert skiers.

When you start thinking about ski vacations, there will be lots of information about various resorts and packages. Finding ski vacations that fit into your budget can be a challenge.

To save money, you may go for lesser known resorts. Also you should look for ski vacation packages that will include your lodging, lift tickets, lessons, rentals etc.
